Source Documents

Among the documents instrumental to explaining and defining the United States of America’s form of governance is the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution.

Each was published in a “version 1.0” form in the 1700’s CE in the English language.

The United States has a publicly funded National Archives where you can find much more information.

FoundingDocuments.org

FoundingDocuments.org is a project of Andrew C. Bairnsfather who began it for many reasons.

Originally not meant to be specific to any country, or even any organization which (attempts to) organize itself with written rules.

Past

The first version of the website didn’t go public for technical issues.

Given the explosion of mobile devices, back-burner ideas were reviewed and a decision was made to immediately publish these important documents as vCards for easy searching, reading, editing, and sharing.

The second version of the website went out a bit too far on a limb by relying on security patches from a web host not very concerned with security or data portability.
